#2      Reviewing the Room 

You should take a look, as far in advance as possible, at the location and the setup of the space where you'll be making a presentation.
Items to note:

  1. Lighting
  2. Temperature
  3. Size of the room
  4. Seating arrangements 
  5. Stage
  6. Podium
  7. Microphone(s)
  8. Projector
  9. Computer
  10. Flip chart, whiteboard
  11. Power source, extension cords
  12. Audience sightlines
  13. Camera location, if you are doing a video conference
  14. Movement limitations, if you are doing a video conference 

 

#3      Self Evaluation for Media Interviews

  1. I researched the outlet and the reporter in advance.
  2. I anticipated questions and prepared answers.
  3. I focused on the interview, was punctual, and kept the stress level low.
  4. I delivered thoughtful, complete answers.
  5. I evaluated on the spot and added any value that I could.
